UNSPSC 27112906: Caulking guns

UNSPSC 27112906 Caulking guns, a Commodity code, covers specialized hand tools for applying sealant materials in building maintenance and repair work. State and local governments procure caulking guns primarily for facility maintenance — specifically for exterior envelope sealing at police stations, fire facilities, and other municipal buildings where weather-tight seals on windows and doors are critical to facility protection and energy efficiency. The work involves both direct procurement of the tools themselves and contracting for caulking repair services at government facilities, with municipalities and county authorities as the primary buyers.

The City of Norwalk, Connecticut issued an ITB on July 21, 2026 for exterior window and door caulking repairs at the Norwalk Police Headquarters, with bids due August 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EDT; the solicitation was posted on the Bonfire Hub platform with three addenda issued between July 28 and August 6, 2026. Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, Florida issued a separate ITB on July 7, 2026 (ITB2600319) for janitorial and operational supplies estimated at $765,679.84, which references consumable supplies for 47 fire stations; while the primary scope is janitorial items, the ITB's broad supplies category may encompass hand tools and caulking materials as subordinate line items. Recent activity centers on Connecticut and Florida, with municipal departments and county facilities management as the issuing bodies.
