UNSPSC 27112708: Power sanders

UNSPSC 27112708 Power sanders, a Commodity code, encompasses hand-held and stationary sanding equipment that state and local governments procure for maintenance, construction, and equipment-servicing operations across public facilities, fleet maintenance yards, and public works departments. The single recent opportunity in this code reflects a mismatch between the nominal scope and current procurement activity: Sourcewell, a Minnesota-based service cooperative, posted RFP #061626 on May 12, 2026 for Law Enforcement Equipment, which is not aligned with power sander procurement. State and local buyers under this code typically include county public works departments, city maintenance operations, school districts with facilities management functions, and transit authorities managing fleet and facility upkeep. The cooperative purchasing model used by Sourcewell and similar vehicles allows multiple jurisdictions to leverage shared contracts once established.

The geographic spread of power sander procurement is not clearly evident from recent activity, as the single posted opportunity (RFP #061626, due June 16, 2026) targets law enforcement equipment rather than sanders and thus does not provide relevant geographic signals. Sourcewell's solicitation framework spans Washington state counties (Franklin, Grant, Grays Harbor, Chelan, and Yakima) and participating entities throughout the United States and Canada, but this jurisdiction list reflects the law enforcement equipment scope, not power sander procurement patterns. No other recent opportunities under this Commodity code are available in the source to establish current geographic concentration or issuing-body patterns specific to power sanders.
