UNSPSC 27112601: Putty knives

UNSPSC 27112601 Putty knives is a Commodity code that encompasses hand tools for surface preparation and finishing work in maintenance and construction settings. State and local governments procure putty knives as consumable supplies for janitorial, maintenance, and facilities operations. The solicitations under this code come primarily from county governments and county boards managing multi-facility operations — particularly fire rescue departments, public safety complexes, and county property maintenance programs that operate on an as-needed basis and require ongoing supplies of small hand tools and consumables.

Recent activity centers in Florida, where Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners and Seminole County have posted solicitations spanning janitorial and operational supplies for fire rescue operations and facility maintenance services. Hillsborough County posted ITB2600319 on July 7, 2026, due July 24, 2026, for consumable janitorial and operational supplies to support 47 fire stations with an estimated contract value of $765,679.84 for one year; putty knives appear in the broader consumables list for this procurement. Seminole County posted Invitation for Bid 604483-22/LNF on March 17, 2026, for term contract caulking, coatings, joint sealant, and pressure washing services across county properties, with responses due February 1, 2023. Both solicitations award on a competitive sealed bid or IFB basis with no minimum purchase guarantees, allow flexible delivery windows within 10 business days, and permit the issuing body to award by line item or overall net bid price.
