UNSPSC 27112407: Security tag detacher

This commodity is used to removes security tags from merchandise.

UNSPSC 27112407 Security tag detacher is a Commodity code that shows minimal recent state and local procurement activity aligned with its nominal scope. The single recent opportunity in the dataset is Gwinnett County's Department of Financial Services posting (IWQ 128183, April 1, 2026) for the purchase of 125 Gunnebo Industries Sling Hooks, model EGKN-10-10, or approved equivalents — a procurement plainly unrelated to security tag detachment equipment. The mismatch suggests either a data-entry error in the UNSPSC assignment or that the code does not reflect actual state and local buying patterns for security retail or loss-prevention technology.

The Gwinnett County opportunity, an Informal Written Quotation due April 3, 2026, calls for lifting chain hooks for delivery to the Department of Water Resources warehouse, with vendors required to submit three project references, a Certification of Non-Collusion statement, and a valid county occupation tax certificate. No set-aside designations, incumbent contractors, or bonds are specified. Based on the available recent-opportunities data, this code shows no meaningful procurement volume or geographic spread across state and local jurisdictions for the work it nominates. Pursuit under this code should focus on confirming whether the code assignment is accurate before investing in qualification and pre-bid research.
