UNSPSC 27111932: Square file

Type of file designed for filing slots, key ways, grooves, square holes and edges, and for filing flat surfaces where a heavier section is preferred

UNSPSC 27111932 Square file, a Commodity code, covers hand tools — specifically square files used in manual metalworking, fabrication, maintenance, and repair work across state and local operations. Square files are flat or slightly tapered abrasive tools used to finish, deburr, and shape metal surfaces in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and field operations. State and local procurement under this code spans departments of transportation, public works agencies, school district vocational programs, county maintenance shops, and municipal facilities management — any jurisdiction maintaining or fabricating metal equipment or infrastructure. The work itself is straightforward tool acquisition: purchasing individual square files or small batches to stock maintenance inventories or support specific repair projects.

The source provided contains no recent state and local contract opportunities posted under UNSPSC 27111932. Without posted solicitations to characterize geographic concentration, issuing-body mix, or representative recent activity, the code shows no current procurement signal. This absence does not indicate the code is inactive — hand tools are routine consumables across state and local operations — but rather that either recent notices do not specify this granular Commodity code or opportunities are consolidated under broader tool-family codes or purchasing cooperative vehicles where individual commodity codes are not applied.
