UNSPSC 27111524: Rivet cutter

A tool specially designed for removing rivet heads in order to undo a union between surfaces by extracting the inside rod.

UNSPSC 27111524 Rivet cutter is a Commodity code that covers cutting tools for metal fasteners and structural work. State and local governments procure rivet cutters and related hand tools primarily through small-order and operational-supply contracts for maintenance, repair, and construction support across fire departments, public facilities, and municipal departments. Issuing bodies include city procurement offices and county purchasing departments that acquire these tools as part of broader consumable or equipment purchases rather than as standalone specialty items.

Recent activity shows the code appearing in two distinct contexts: the City of Philadelphia posted a micro purchase for bolt cutters (Solicitation B2727842, due September 4, 2026) as a line-item quote through its eProcurement platform, and the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners issued ITB2600319 for janitorial and operational supplies (due July 24, 2026) estimated at $765,679.84 for one year, serving 47 fire stations operated by Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Department in Tampa, Florida. The code shows light but traceable recent procurement activity across Florida and Pennsylvania, with acquisitions typically embedded in larger municipal or county operational supply orders rather than appearing as dedicated solicitations for cutting tools alone.
