UNSPSC 26142106: Nuclear reactor control rod systems

UNSPSC 26142106 Nuclear reactor control rod systems, a Commodity code, addresses the procurement of control rod assemblies, drive mechanisms, and related hardware used in nuclear power generation. State and local governments do not procure these systems directly; the code applies primarily to state utility commissions and public power authorities that oversee or own nuclear generating stations, and to specialized engineering and construction firms performing work on nuclear facilities under state regulatory oversight. The scope includes replacement control rod assemblies, neutron-absorbing materials, positioning and drive systems, and associated instrumentation and testing equipment required to maintain safe reactor operation and regulatory compliance.

The source material contains no recent state or local contract opportunities tagged to this code. Nuclear reactor control rod procurement is capital-intensive, highly specialized, and infrequent — activities that typically occur through multi-year cycles aligned with reactor refueling schedules and regulatory inspection intervals rather than annual or quarterly bidding cycles common in state and local markets. Without posted solicitations, no geographic concentration, issuing-body pattern, or representative opportunity data are available to characterize current market activity under this code.
