UNSPSC 26141807: Hot cell lead glass windows

UNSPSC 26141807 Hot cell lead glass windows, a Commodity code, covers specialized radiation-shielding window assemblies used in nuclear research, medical imaging, and industrial radiography facilities. State and local governments procure these components for university nuclear engineering laboratories, hospital nuclear medicine departments, and radiation therapy centers where containment and worker safety require lead-lined or lead-equivalent glass barriers. The windows integrate lead or lead-composite glazing with structural framing to attenuate gamma and X-ray radiation while maintaining visibility into shielded work areas.

The source material contains no recent state and local contract opportunities tagged to this code. Activity in hot cell lead glass windows remains sparse or absent from current procurement notice databases; when universities, hospitals, or research institutions do solicit these components, they may route purchases through cooperative purchasing vehicles, direct vendor relationships, or federal research-facility contracts rather than open competitive notices. Firms pursuing this code should monitor university capital-project RFPs, hospital facility-modernization solicitations, and state research-agency infrastructure notices, particularly in regions with established nuclear medicine or academic nuclear engineering programs.
