UNSPSC 26101764: Cylinder liners

UNSPSC 26101764 Cylinder liners (Commodity) does not reflect the scope of recent state and local solicitations tagged with this code. The recent-opportunities block shows no procurements for cylinder liners; instead, the tagged solicitations cover electric motor repair, emergency generator installation, electrical and emergency power systems, backup generators, building renovation, exhaust gas compensators and gaskets, IT infrastructure, bus fleet engine repairs, electrical power generation equipment, and electric motor purchases—none of which align with the manufacture or supply of internal engine cylinder liners.

The mismatch between the code's nominal definition and actual procurement activity suggests either systematic tagging errors in the source data or that state and local jurisdictions are classifying engine and motor component work under this cylinder-liner code despite the absence of cylinder-liner-specific solicitations. No representative cylinder-liner opportunities are evident in the recent activity. Firms evaluating this code should verify actual commodity classifications with state and local purchasing offices rather than relying on the UNSPSC label, as the tagged work appears to span engine repair, motor service, power generation systems, and related mechanical and electrical infrastructure—distinct from cylinder liner supply and installation.
