UNSPSC 26101204: Series wound motor DC

UNSPSC 26101204 Series wound motor DC is a Commodity code for direct-current motors with series-wound field coils, but the recent state and local opportunities tagged under this code do not reflect purchases of DC motors or motor components. The single recent opportunity in the dataset — DeKalb County's June 2026 ITB for reconstruction of the DeKalb Tennis Center in Decatur, Georgia — centers on IT and low-voltage infrastructure installation, including conduit, cabling, raceways, and terminations, with no mention of DC motors or motor procurement. The scope mismatch suggests either a tagging error in the opportunity record or that DC motors are incidental to a larger systems-integration project rather than the primary procurement driver.

Without additional opportunities tagged to this code in the recent activity block, no reliable pattern emerges regarding the mix of issuing bodies, geographic concentration, or the actual demand for series-wound DC motors in state and local procurement. The single DeKalb County record does not support a characterization of whether counties, cities, school districts, or other jurisdiction types routinely source DC motors under this code, nor does it establish whether this code sees meaningful activity in other states. Firms evaluating pursuit of DC motor opportunities in state and local markets should verify the accuracy of code assignments in solicitation records and direct outreach to procurement offices to confirm genuine demand for the product category.
