UNSPSC 25172122: Passenger airbag inflator

Air inflation mechanism used for passenger side front automotive inflatable restraint system

UNSPSC 25172122 Passenger airbag inflator is a Commodity code that shows little relevant recent activity in state and local procurement. The most recent opportunities posted under this code do not involve passenger airbag inflators or related automotive safety components. Instead, the recent records capture a county purchasing department relocation notice (Williamson County, Texas, posted July 14, 2026), a fiber optic cable installation and intersection improvements project solicited by Broward County, Florida (ITB TRN2131951C1, due May 22, 2026), and heavy-duty bus and truck brake parts solicited by the City of Gainesville, Florida (ITB RTSX270003DS, due May 12, 2026). None of these solicitations align with the code's nominal scope of passenger airbag inflators, suggesting either tagging error or absence of current state and local demand for this component under this UNSPSC classification.

The mismatch between the code and recent posting activity indicates this code may not be actively used in state and local procurement for its intended product category. Business development professionals evaluating activity under UNSPSC 25172122 should verify whether passenger airbag inflators are procured by state and local government entities at all, or whether they are classified under alternative UNSPSC codes in current procurement systems. The recent opportunities warrant skip recommendation unless broader market intelligence indicates hidden demand or misclassification patterns in the targeted jurisdictions.
