UNSPSC 24102506: Strapping machines

Strapping Machines are packaging machines that use bands of flat steel or plastic tightened around a package or pallet of goods and fasten together to secure the package.

UNSPSC 24102506 Strapping machines is a Commodity code that shows minimal recent state and local procurement activity aligned with its nominal scope. The recent opportunities posted under this code are predominantly CO2 tank rental, refill, and delivery services; large-capacity liquid storage tank replacement and procurement; and cryogenic nitrogen storage systems—none of which involve strapping machines or equipment for bundling and securing goods. The single water-treatment tank replacement project at Pinellas County, Florida (ITB 260374) required tank supply and installation but no strapping or binding equipment. The code appears to be misapplied to infrastructure and gas-service procurements that fall outside the traditional machinery for product packaging and unitization.

No relevant recent opportunities for actual strapping machines or related bundling equipment are present in the source. State and local procurement activity under this code does not currently reflect demand for the equipment category the code nominally describes.
