UNSPSC 24101901: Drum openers

UNSPSC 24101901 Drum openers is a Commodity code covering handheld and mechanical tools designed to open sealed drums and barrels — equipment state and local procurement offices purchase primarily for maintenance, hazardous-materials handling, and facility operations. The code captures both manual pry bars and torque-assist openers used by public works departments, environmental remediation crews, and facility maintenance teams to access bulk containers of lubricants, chemicals, and other industrial liquids in storage. State and local issuing bodies soliciting under this code span city and county public works departments, state environmental agencies, and facilities-management operations at larger municipalities and county seats.

The <most-recent-state-local-contract-opportunities> block provided no entries, indicating no recent posted opportunities tagged to this code in the available procurement record. Drum openers remain a low-volume procurement category at the state and local level, typically purchased through standing supply contracts, small-dollar purchase orders, or cooperative purchasing agreements rather than competitive solicitations. Firms tracking activity under this code should monitor state and local facilities-management RFQs and municipal purchasing cooperatives for occasional bundled requests that include hand tools and equipment maintenance supplies.
