UNSPSC 23271803: Desoldering braid

UNSPSC 23271803 Desoldering braid is a Commodity code that shows little relevance to the recent state and local opportunities tagged under it. The recent solicitations focus on welding laboratory equipment installation, welding materials and supplies procurement (rods, tungsten electrodes, sheets, tubes, and pipes), and track welding maintenance services for transit infrastructure—none of which involve desoldering braid or desoldering work. The mismatch between the code's nominal scope and the actual work being solicited suggests either a tagging error in the source data or a very narrow application of this Commodity code that does not align with current state and local procurement patterns. The issuing bodies in the tagged opportunities include community college districts and school systems (Mt. San Antonio Community College District, Dalton Public Schools, Collin College, and Collin County Community College District) as well as a transit authority (Charlotte Area Transit System), but none of these solicitations are purchasing desoldering braid or related desoldering consumables.

Activity under this code is geographically dispersed across California, Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina, but the opportunities posted do not substantiate procurement of the product the code names. Because the recent solicitations do not reflect buying of desoldering braid, the code does not support a reliable market signal for business development at this time.
