UNSPSC 23242604: Lapping machine

Lapping machines improve the surface finish of parts by using a lap tool, which is typically made of cast iron, copper, leather, or cloth. Lapping machines are used on flat, curved, cylindrical or spherical surfaces to improve the surface finish.

UNSPSC 23242604 Lapping machine is a Commodity code with sparse recent state and local activity. The two posted opportunities show little alignment with the code's nominal scope: Sourcewell's law enforcement equipment cooperative purchasing vehicle (RFP #061626, due June 16, 2026) and the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point's paper machine stock tank upgrade (IFB #2026STPALL01275RFB, due April 16, 2026) do not evidently involve lapping machines. The code shows minimal documented recent demand from state and local buyers.

Geographic activity is limited to the source records: Sourcewell's procurement spans multiple Washington counties (Franklin, Grant, Grays Harbor, Chelan, Yakima) and nationwide jurisdictions through its cooperative framework, while the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point is located in Wisconsin. Without additional documentation matching lapping machine procurement to this code, the recent opportunities provide no meaningful signal of sustained buying activity or issuing-body patterns under UNSPSC 23242604 in state and local markets.
