UNSPSC 23241623: Side milling cutter

A type of cutter supplied in straight and staggered tooth form for light and heavy deep slot operations in steel and in most soft materials.

UNSPSC 23241623 Side milling cutter is a Commodity code that does not reflect the work actually being solicited under it in recent state and local opportunities. The two most recent opportunities tagged to this code involve bolt cutters and janitorial supplies—neither of which relates to the code's nominal scope of metal-cutting machine tools. The Philadelphia opportunity solicits bolt cutters as a micro purchase; the Hillsborough County opportunity solicits consumable janitorial and operational supplies for fire rescue operations. No relevant recent activity supports pursuit under this code's stated commodity classification.

The mismatch between the code's stated scope and actual opportunity content signals that this code either receives infrequent state and local procurement attention or that tagging errors have occurred in the source system. Business development professionals should verify category assignment directly with issuing bodies or use alternative UNSPSC classifications aligned with consumable supplies, hand tools, or related categories if pursuing these issuing bodies' future opportunities. The code warrants monitoring only if internal research reveals legitimate state and local demand for side milling cutters that the current opportunity set does not surface.
