UNSPSC 23241616: Wire or cable cutter

UNSPSC 23241616 Wire or cable cutter is a Commodity code representing hand tools and small mechanical devices used to cut wire, cable, or fasteners. State and local governments procure these under the code as consumable operational supplies for maintenance, emergency services, and facility management. The City of Philadelphia and Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners—a city government and a county public-safety operation—are representative issuing bodies, acquiring bolt cutters and janitorial/operational supplies that include cutting implements for emergency response and routine maintenance. Scope ranges from specialized cutting tools for fire rescue operations to general-purpose cutters for building and infrastructure maintenance.

Recent activity shows procurement concentrated in Florida and Pennsylvania. The City of Philadelphia posted ITB B2727842 for bolt cutters as a micro purchase with a response deadline of September 4, 2026. Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners issued ITB2600319 on July 7, 2026 for consumable janitorial and operational supplies—including cutting implements—for the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Department across 47 fire stations; the contract was estimated at $765,679.84 with a one-year term and bids due July 24, 2026. Both opportunities reflect routine operational buying through competitive sealed bid processes, with no minimum purchase guarantees and award authority by line item or overall lowest responsive bid at the buyer's discretion.
