UNSPSC 23161510: Casting machines

UNSPSC 23161510 Casting machines is a Commodity code that state and local governments use to procure sand and bulk materials for emergency response and operational support. The recent activity under this code does not align with the nominal scope — casting equipment — and instead reflects state and local use of the code to classify sand supply contracts for sandbag operations and similar material-handling needs. Issuing bodies under this code include county governments managing emergency preparedness and public works operations.

Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners posted ITB 2600073 on March 4, 2026, seeking sand delivery for sandbag operations on an as-needed basis to multiple county locations and job sites, with a response deadline of March 27, 2026, and a three-year contract value of $617,490.00. The county requires suppliers to respond within 24 hours for non-declared emergencies and four hours for declared emergencies, maintain $1,000,000 per-occurrence general liability insurance with Additional Insured endorsements, and comply with E-Verify and Florida drug-free workplace certification. Pricing is fixed per ton with all delivery, fuel, and equipment costs incorporated into the unit price. This is the only recent opportunity identified under the code, suggesting limited recent state and local procurement activity in this category.
