UNSPSC 20123202: Expandable sand screen hanger repair kit

Standard components for repairing expandable sand screen hangers.

UNSPSC 20123202 Expandable sand screen hanger repair kit is a Commodity code that in recent state and local procurement shows little activity aligned with its nominal scope. The two most recent opportunities tagged under this code are substantially unrelated to expandable sand screen hanger repair kits: the City of Tucson Environmental and General Services Division issued RFP No. 240011 for EPA-certified refrigerant reclamation services (gas extraction and documentation from appliances), and Sourcewell, a Minnesota cooperative purchasing vehicle, posted RFP #061626 for law enforcement equipment on behalf of multiple county and municipal participating entities across Washington and other jurisdictions. Neither procurement involves the equipment repair or replacement parts the code nominally describes.

The mismatch between the code's stated scope and the recent solicitations tagged against it suggests that state and local procurement offices may be applying this UNSPSC code inconsistently or using it as a catch-all for miscellaneous environmental, equipment, or facility services. No pattern of repeat issuers, geographic concentration, or sustained demand for expandable sand screen hanger repair kits is evident from recent activity. Business development professionals evaluating this code should verify the actual scope of target opportunities directly through solicitation documents rather than relying on the UNSPSC classification alone, and should watch for opportunities that more clearly align with subsurface drilling or well-service equipment repair.
