UNSPSC 20121316: Sand control screens

UNSPSC 20121316 Sand control screens (Commodity) shows minimal recent state and local procurement activity aligned with its nominal scope. The two recent opportunities tagged to this code diverge significantly from sand control screens: one solicits EPA-certified refrigerant reclamation services for gas extraction from appliances, the other procures law enforcement equipment through a cooperative purchasing vehicle. Neither represents the filtration, separation, or wellhead equipment typically associated with sand control in oil and gas operations.

The mismatch between the code's technical scope and actual recent solicitations suggests either miscoding of opportunities or a shift in how this Commodity code is being applied at the state and local level. The refrigerant-extraction opportunity (City of Tucson Environmental and General Services Division, RFP 240011, due September 19, 2024) and the law enforcement equipment cooperative (Sourcewell on behalf of multiple Washington counties, RFP 061626, due June 16, 2026) indicate no material market activity in sand control screens among state, county, or municipal buyers in the available record. Business development professionals should verify directly with target procurement offices whether sand control screens appear in active or planned solicitations, as this code does not currently signal active demand in state and local purchasing.
