UNSPSC 13111308: Polystyrene foam

UNSPSC 13111308 Polystyrene foam (Commodity) covers rigid and expanded polystyrene materials that state and local governments procure for insulation, protective packaging, and construction applications. The code encompasses both virgin and recycled polystyrene foam products in sheets, blocks, beads, and molded forms used in building thermal systems, equipment protection, and material transport. State and local buyers — including facilities management offices, public works departments, school districts, and transit authorities — source these materials for capital projects, maintenance work, and operational needs such as HVAC insulation, dock padding, and shipping protection for equipment and supplies.

The source provided contains no recent state and local contract opportunities posted under this code. Without posted RFP, RFQ, IFB, or ITB records, geographic concentration and representative solicitation activity cannot be characterized. Firms pursuing polystyrene foam procurement should monitor state and local solicitation boards and cooperative purchasing catalogs for activity; the absence of recent postings does not indicate zero demand but reflects the frequency and visibility of opportunities in this particular commodity across the jurisdictions tracked.
