UNSPSC 13111071: Polyaryletherketone resin

UNSPSC 13111071 Polyaryletherketone resin is a Commodity code for a high-performance engineering plastic used in specialized industrial and manufacturing applications. State and local procurement activity under this code is minimal; the recent opportunities block contains no solicitations. The code nominally describes polyaryletherketone (PAEK) resin — a thermoplastic polymer valued for its thermal stability, chemical resistance, and mechanical properties in demanding environments — but state and local governments rarely procure raw engineering resins directly. When they do acquire such materials, procurement typically flows through vendors supplying finished components or assemblies rather than through standalone resin purchases.

The absence of recent state and local opportunities under this code reflects the narrow demand profile for raw PAEK resin in the public sector. State and local procurement in materials science is dominated by finished goods, components, and bulk commodities (metals, fuels, aggregate, chemicals for treatment and maintenance); procurement of specialized engineering polymers in resin form remains largely a private manufacturing function. Monitor this code for activity if your firm supplies finished PAEK components to state or local government, but do not prioritize it as a direct procurement channel.
