UNSPSC 13111040: Hydrocarbon tackifier

UNSPSC 13111040 Hydrocarbon tackifier is a Commodity code covering resinous chemical additives that state and local governments procure primarily for road maintenance, pavement marking, and adhesive applications. The code captures sticky hydrocarbon compounds—natural or synthetic resins derived from petroleum or plant sources—that increase tackiness or adhesion in sealants, coatings, road binders, and marking compounds used in transportation infrastructure upkeep. State departments of transportation, county public works departments, and city maintenance operations purchase these materials to improve the durability and bonding characteristics of asphalt sealants, thermoplastic road markings, and pavement repair compounds.

The recent-opportunities block contains no recorded state and local solicitations under this code, indicating minimal current procurement activity. Without active RFPs, RFQs, or ITBs to reference, the geographic distribution, issuing-body concentration, and specific recent demand signals cannot be characterized from current market data. Firms tracking this code should monitor state DOT materials specifications and cooperative purchasing vehicle catalogs for emergence of explicit hydrocarbon tackifier line items, particularly in regions with active winter road maintenance programs or high-volume pavement-marking refresh cycles.
