UNSPSC 12162205: Calcium citrate

UNSPSC 12162205 Calcium citrate, a Commodity code, covers procurement of calcium citrate—a mineral supplement and food additive used in pharmaceutical formulations, nutritional products, and institutional food service applications. State and local governments purchase calcium citrate primarily through health departments, correctional facilities, school districts managing student nutrition programs, and public hospitals or clinics providing medical care and dietary supplementation to vulnerable populations including inmates, students, and low-income patients. The code encompasses bulk powder or tablet forms of calcium citrate for institutional use rather than consumer retail packages.

The source provides no recent state or local procurement opportunities under this code. Without posted solicitations in the most-recent-opportunities dataset, no geographic concentration, issuing-body pattern, or representative RFP or RFQ activity can be identified. Calcium citrate procurement at the state and local level, when it occurs, typically moves through standing health-supply contracts, cooperative purchasing agreements, or general commodities buys rather than as standalone category-specific solicitations, which accounts for the absence of dedicated notices under this specific code.
