UNSPSC 12161803: Aerosols

UNSPSC 12161803 Aerosols is a Commodity code, but the single recent state and local opportunity tagged to it—the County of Santa Clara's Request for Information for a Public Health Lab Information Management Solution Replacement—falls outside the code's nominal scope and represents a clear mismatch. The code nominally describes aerosol products (sprays, pressurized containers, and related chemical delivery systems), yet the Santa Clara solicitation solicits software and services for laboratory information management, which has no connection to aerosol commodities. The source provides no additional recent state and local opportunities under this code.

The mismatch signals that this Commodity code sees little relevant recent procurement activity in state and local markets, or that opportunities tagged to it are frequently miscategorized by issuing bodies. Without a body of recent, on-scope solicitations, the code offers limited visibility into actual buying patterns, repeat purchasing bodies, or geographic concentration. Business development professionals should verify whether opportunities tagged to UNSPSC 12161803 in their own deal pipeline genuinely involve aerosol products or represent similar tagging errors before allocating resources to pursue them.
