UNSPSC 12142205: Cobalt sources

UNSPSC 12142205 Cobalt sources is a Commodity code covering the procurement of cobalt raw materials and refined cobalt products by state and local government entities. The code encompasses cobalt ore, cobalt concentrates, cobalt powder, and cobalt alloys used in manufacturing, maintenance, and specialized applications across public agencies. State and local governments procure cobalt primarily through materials and supplies departments, purchasing offices at manufacturing or maintenance facilities, and specialized procurement units supporting aerospace, defense-adjacent, or industrial operations. The issuing bodies include state transportation departments, state economic-development or resource agencies, county public works and facilities management departments, and municipal utilities and public works divisions.

The recent-opportunities block provided no entries for this Commodity code, indicating no recent state or local solicitations tagged to cobalt sources in the accessible record. Without posted opportunities, geographic concentration and representative recent activity cannot be characterized. Firms evaluating pursuit under this code should monitor state procurement portals and specialized materials-sourcing channels in regions with active aerospace, defense-industrial, or high-value manufacturing operations, where cobalt demand from public-sector customers is most likely to surface.
