UNSPSC 12131508: Nitroglycerin powder explosives

UNSPSC 12131508 Nitroglycerin powder explosives (Commodity) shows no recent state and local procurement activity aligned with its nominal scope; the code does not appear in active opportunity records for explosives procurement by state or local agencies as of mid-2026.

Recent opportunities tagged to this code diverge substantially from nitroglycerin powder explosives and instead reflect law enforcement protective equipment, ammunition, and general law enforcement supplies. The City of Charlotte issued an RFP (due July 29, 2026) for NIJ-compliant body armor and sizing services; Sourcewell, Minnesota's local government cooperative, posted an RFP (due June 16, 2026) for law enforcement equipment to serve participating entities statewide; and Rockland County, New York, issued an RFB (due April 23, 2026) for live ammunition, less-lethal ammunition, and less-lethal gases and grenades, with the resulting contract made available to other New York State political subdivisions under General Municipal Law Section 103(3). The mismatch between the code name and the actual work posted suggests either a tagging error in the underlying procurement systems or that this commodity code is not in active use for current state and local solicitations. No opportunities for nitroglycerin powder explosives, mining explosives, quarrying supplies, or demolition materials appear in the recent record.
