UNSPSC 11162310: Horsehide leather

UNSPSC 11162310 Horsehide leather, a Commodity code, shows no recent state and local procurement activity aligned with its nominal scope. The posted opportunities tagged under this code do not involve horsehide leather purchasing; instead, they comprise networking events (vendor meet-and-greets, reverse trade shows, and industry conferences), administrative notices (a county purchasing department relocation), a departmental feedback survey, and one tangential procurement for farrier services to the Albuquerque Police Department Horse Mounted Unit—which involves equine hoof care but does not call for horsehide leather as a deliverable. The farrier services RFB specifies horseshoes, borium application, pads, and related shoeing materials, none of which are leather goods.

State and local procurement offices do not appear to be soliciting horsehide leather under this code at present. The mismatch between the code's nominal commodity and the actual recent postings signals either inactive demand in this category or systematic mis-tagging in the source database. Until recent opportunities surface that explicitly call for horsehide leather products—such as holsters, belts, protective gear, or equipment for law enforcement or fire service—this code warrants a skip or watch status rather than active pursuit.
