UNSPSC 11162303: Sheep leather

UNSPSC 11162303 Sheep leather, a Commodity code, shows no relevant recent state and local procurement activity. The most recent opportunities posted under this code—a county purchasing department relocation notice, two vendor networking events, a welfare-to-work employment program RFI, school district CTE resource procurement, a hand-tools ITB, farrier services for a police mounted unit, multiple government trade shows and vendor open houses, a purchasing department survey, and a statewide procurement trade show invitation—do not solicit or transact in sheep leather or leather goods of any kind. The code appears to be either misapplied to postings unrelated to its scope or reflects minimal actual procurement demand from state and local jurisdictions for sheep leather products.

Without corroborating evidence of active sheep leather procurement across the state and local market, the code presents limited opportunity for business development at this time. Vendors seeking to serve state and local governments in leather supply should monitor higher-level Family or Class codes that span general leather goods, apparel, or specialized equipment categories, or track category-specific RFPs from departments likely to specify leather components (public safety, corrections, public health, or transportation). The current posting record does not support pursuit of this commodity code alone.
