UNSPSC 11162139: Animal hair or horsehair fabric

UNSPSC 11162139 Animal hair or horsehair fabric is a Commodity code under which state and local governments procure specialized textiles made from animal hair or horsehair for upholstery, seating, bedding, and furnishing applications. The code spans fabrics woven or processed from horsehair, camel hair, yak hair, and similar animal-derived fibers, typically used in institutional furniture, vehicle seating, mattress construction, and restoration or heritage conservation projects. Issuing bodies soliciting under this code include state facilities management departments, county procurement offices, municipal facilities authorities, and independent school districts, alongside transit authorities and special-purpose districts that furnish fleet vehicles or institutional spaces.

The source contains no recent state or local contract opportunities posted under UNSPSC 11162139. Without posted solicitations in the public record, the geographic distribution of procurement activity and the current market demand for animal hair or horsehair fabrics under this code cannot be characterized. Firms monitoring this code should track state and local RFP, RFQ, and IFB notices for upholstery and fabric procurement; opportunities under this Commodity code may appear intermittently in the context of fleet refurbishment, heritage furniture restoration, or large institutional furnishing projects rather than as routine, recurring buys.
