UNSPSC 11131606: Animal horns

UNSPSC 11131606 Animal horns (Commodity) shows minimal recent state and local procurement activity aligned with its nominal scope. The two most recent opportunities tagged to this code do not involve animal horns as a product category. Harris County Public Health Services Office issued an ITB for pet clinic supplies and related items (due July 27, 2026), and DeKalb County issued an ITB for feed, hay, and shavings for Little Creek Horse Farm (due July 23, 2026). Neither solicitation references horns or horn-derived products as a line item or scope component. The mismatch suggests either miscoding at the issuing body or that the code captures an exceptionally narrow product category that state and local governments rarely procure as a standalone line item.

The geographic activity visible in the source is limited to Texas and Georgia county-level buyers. Without recent opportunities that substantively match the code's stated scope, a business development focus on this Commodity code would likely yield minimal pipeline activity. Firms handling animal-derived specialty products or agricultural supplies for county operations should monitor whether future solicitations correct the tagging or reveal actual demand for horns or horn-derived materials under this code, but the current signal is one of negligible recent state and local market activity.
