UNSPSC 11121703: Peat moss

UNSPSC 11121703 Peat moss is a Commodity code for horticultural soil amendments; however, the source shows no recent state and local procurement activity aligned with this code's actual scope. The single opportunity tagged under this code—DeKalb County's ITB 2026-076-ITB for reconstruction of the DeKalb Tennis Center (due July 13, 2026)—concerns IT and low-voltage infrastructure installation, conduit, cabling, and testing, which falls outside the horticultural products family entirely. This mismatch suggests the code was applied in error during opportunity ingestion or cataloging and does not reflect genuine market demand for peat moss procurement through state and local channels.

Without substantive recent opportunities genuinely aligned to the Commodity code, meaningful characterization of issuing-body mix, geographic concentration, or near-term pursuit signals cannot be drawn from the source. State and local procurement professionals evaluating this code should verify whether peat moss demand exists through secondary research channels—direct outreach to parks and recreation departments, grounds maintenance divisions, or schools with horticultural or landscaping programs—before committing resources to pursue activity under this classification.
