UNSPSC 11101702: Natural graphite

UNSPSC 11101702 Natural graphite is a Commodity code that shows no relevant recent state and local procurement activity. The three most recently posted opportunities tagged under this code involve irrigation system installation for a municipal park (City of DeBary, Florida), structural steel and aluminum materials supply (City of Fort Worth), and law enforcement equipment (Sourcewell cooperative purchasing on behalf of multiple Washington state counties and other public entities) — none of which align with natural graphite sourcing or consumption. The code's nominal scope — raw or processed natural graphite mineral — does not match what these solicitations are actually buying, and the mismatch suggests either systematic miscoding in state and local procurement databases or minimal genuine demand for natural graphite commodities at the state and local level.

Without evidence of actual graphite procurement, there is no discernible issuing-body mix, geographic concentration, or representative opportunity to characterize. Firms evaluating this code should verify whether natural graphite demand exists in specific customer segments (e.g., school districts, transit authorities, or utilities with graphite-intensive manufacturing) or consider whether state and local procurement offices are sourcing graphite products under related codes that capture processed graphite components, additives, or finished goods incorporating graphite rather than raw mineral itself.
