UNSPSC 11101609: Zinc ore

UNSPSC 11101609 Zinc ore is a Commodity code that rarely appears in recent state and local procurement activity. The three most recent opportunities tagged to this code show minimal alignment with zinc ore procurement: the City of Fort Worth's RFP for aluminum, iron, rebar, and steel (posted June 24, 2026); Sourcewell's cooperative-purchasing RFP for law enforcement equipment on behalf of participating public entities across multiple states (posted May 12, 2026); and the City of DeBary, Florida's bid for park irrigation system improvements (posted April 13, 2026). None of these solicitations directly procure zinc ore or zinc-bearing materials, suggesting the code captures little relevant state and local purchasing activity or is being applied inconsistently to opportunities outside its nominal scope.

The geographic distribution of recent activity spans Texas, the Pacific Northwest (Washington), and Florida, but the misalignment between the code's name and the actual scope of work being solicited indicates this Commodity code does not reflect meaningful current demand in state and local government procurement. No representative zinc ore procurement opportunities are evident in the recent record. Practitioners pursuing activity under this code should verify issuing-body classification practices and consider whether opportunities truly align with zinc ore supply before investing significant business development effort.
