UNSPSC 10417803: Dried cut clarkei geranium

Dried cut bloom of the clarkei variety of geranium

UNSPSC 10417803 Dried cut clarkei geranium (Commodity) shows minimal relevance to recent state and local procurement activity. The code nominally specifies a single dried plant product — clarkei geranium — yet recent solicitations tagged under this code do not purchase dried geranium at all. Pinellas County's environmental planting and monitoring contract seeks installation and maintenance of live native plants across wetlands, stormwater ponds, and surface water sites, with a comprehensive list of 150 native species; Columbus Consolidated Government's parks and recreation supplies bid covers general arts, craft, and hobby materials. Neither opportunity aligns with the specific commodity the code describes, and neither issuing body appears to solicit dried cut geranium for any stated purpose. The mismatch suggests either a cataloging error in how these opportunities were tagged or that dried cut clarkei geranium holds no meaningful market share in current state and local procurement.

No recent state and local opportunities present a demand signal for dried cut clarkei geranium specifically. The two opportunities in the dataset — Pinellas County's RFP for environmental services (due July 29, 2025) and Columbus Consolidated Government's RFB for arts and craft supplies (due February 25, 2026) — are unrelated to the commodity's nominal scope. Given the lack of relevant recent activity and the apparent cataloging misalignment, this code does not warrant pursuit based on present market signals.
