UNSPSC 10417005: Dried cut sunsplash sunflower

Dried cut bloom of the sunsplash variety of sunflowers

UNSPSC 10417005 Dried cut sunsplash sunflower is a Commodity code that shows minimal alignment with recent state and local procurement activity under this classification. The two recent opportunities posted under this code—one from Pinellas County for environmental planting, monitoring, reporting, and maintenance services, and one from Columbus Consolidated Government for arts and craft, hobby, and recreational supplies—do not reflect procurement of dried cut sunsplash sunflowers or dried florals at all. The Pinellas County solicitation centers on native plant installation and invasive species removal at wetlands and stormwater sites; the Columbus procurement addresses general craft and recreational supplies for parks and recreation departments. Neither opportunity involves the purchase or supply of the dried flower product the code nominally describes.

State and local procurement activity under this code does not support a viable business development focus at this time. The posted opportunities represent categorical miscoding rather than genuine demand signals for dried cut sunsplash sunflower products. A business development professional should treat this code as inactive for state and local opportunities and monitor for corrected or properly coded solicitations in the future.
