UNSPSC 10252048: Live phalaenopsis pulcherrima orchid

Live plant including the root ball of the pulcherrima variety of phalaenopsis orchid

UNSPSC 10252048 Live phalaenopsis pulcherrima orchid, a Commodity code, does not align with the state and local procurement activity indexed under it. The recent solicitation records show landscaping, irrigation installation, coastal dune restoration, environmental plant management, and general plant procurement — work that encompasses native species, shrubs, trees, groundcover, and construction-grade materials across multiple project types and geographies. The code's nominal scope — live phalaenopsis pulcherrima orchid, an ornamental flowering houseplant — does not match the nature of work actually being solicited by state and local jurisdictions under this classification.

The mismatch appears to reflect a cataloging misalignment rather than active demand for live phalaenopsis pulcherrima orchid under the code. Recent opportunities span county and municipal buyers including DeKalb County, Georgia; Pasco County, Florida; Collier County, Florida; Pinellas County, Florida; and the City of Dallas, Texas, with work types ranging from infrastructure restoration and dune stabilization to environmental mitigation and facility maintenance planting. The code shows little relevant recent activity for the specific commodity it nominally names.
