UNSPSC 10241516: Live single bloom purple bi color carnation

Live plant including the root ball of the purple bi color variety of single bloom carnations

UNSPSC 10241516 Live single bloom purple bi color carnation is a Commodity code, but the recent state and local opportunities posted under this designation show a significant mismatch with the code's nominal scope. The five most recent records tagged to this code span IT and low-voltage infrastructure reconstruction at a tennis center in DeKalb County, Georgia; landscaping and irrigation installation along a county road in Pasco County, Florida; coastal dune stabilization plantings in Collier County, Florida; environmental planting, monitoring, and maintenance services across multiple sites in Pinellas County, Florida; and generic plant purchases by the City of Dallas, Texas. Only the Dallas and Collier County solicitations involve actual plant procurement, and neither specifies cut flowers or carnations. The code appears to be a data-taxonomy error or misclassification at the source level — the recent opportunities do not reflect what the code nominally describes.

The geographic footprint of recent activity centers on Florida (Pasco, Collier, and Pinellas counties) and Texas (City of Dallas), with one Georgia record. The Florida solicitations (IFBKM26047 in Pasco County, due April 14, 2026; the Pelican Bay Quick Quote in Collier County, due March 13, 2026; and RFP 250628RFP in Pinellas County, due July 29, 2025) focus on landscape installation, native plant restoration, and environmental management services rather than floral inventory procurement. The Dallas IFS 215260, due February 3, 2026, calls for generic plant purchases but provides no species detail. Unless the source reflects a systematic coding problem, this code shows little actionable recent activity for vendors in the cut-flower or specialty floral segments.
