UNSPSC 10226700: Live watsonias

Live plants including the root ball of watsonias

UNSPSC 10226700 Live watsonias (Class) does not align with the recent state and local procurement activity tagged under it. The code nominally describes a specific ornamental plant species, yet the recent opportunities tagged to this code span IT infrastructure installation, roadway landscaping and irrigation systems, coastal dune restoration planting, environmental wetland and stormwater site management, and general plant procurement—none of which target watsonias specifically. The mismatch suggests either a cataloging error in how opportunities were tagged to the code or that the code is being used as a catch-all for horticultural procurement activity well beyond its intended scope.

The recent opportunities show issuing bodies across Florida (Pasco County, Collier County, and Pinellas County), Georgia (DeKalb County), and Texas (City of Dallas) pursuing landscaping installation, native plant restoration, dune stabilization, invasive species removal, and maintenance contracts through IFBs, RFPs, and informal solicitations. None of the opportunities reference watsonias or the narrow taxonomic category the code nominally describes. Given this substantial disconnect between the code's stated commodity and the actual work being procured, the code shows little relevant recent activity for vendors seeking to pursue opportunities authentically aligned with live watsonias procurement.
