UNSPSC 10226005: Live bird of paradise

Live plant including the root ball of bird of paradise flowers

UNSPSC 10226005 Live bird of paradise is a Commodity code that shows no relevant recent state and local procurement activity. The five most recent opportunities tagged with this code—spanning DeKalb County (Georgia) IT infrastructure for a tennis center, Pasco County (Florida) landscaping and irrigation installation, Collier County (Florida) coastal dune plantings, Pinellas County (Florida) environmental planting and wetland management, and the City of Dallas (Texas) plant procurement—involve landscaping materials, native plant installation, dune restoration, and general ornamental plants, none of which align with the live bird of paradise taxonomy. The code appears to be a systematic classification that does not match the actual scope of work being solicited in these jurisdictions.

The mismatch between the code designation and the work being purchased suggests this Commodity code sees minimal or no active state and local procurement volume, or that issuing bodies are applying it incorrectly to landscape and environmental restoration projects that fall under broader plant and landscaping families. Business development professionals should verify the correct UNSPSC family or class code for plant material and landscaping services before targeting these opportunity streams.
