UNSPSC 10225500: Live physostegias or obedient plant

Live plants including the root ball of physostegias

UNSPSC 10225500 Live physostegias or obedient plant is a Class code that does not align with the recent state and local contract opportunities posted under it. The recent solicitations—including IT infrastructure reconstruction at a tennis center in Georgia, landscaping and irrigation installation in Florida, coastal dune plantings, environmental planting and monitoring services, and a general plant purchase order in Texas—reflect landscape design, site restoration, native species installation, and horticultural procurement across a range of project types and issuing bodies. None of these opportunities involves physostegias or obedient plant as a named procurement item or scope driver, suggesting a significant mismatch between the code's nominal taxonomy entry and the work actually being tagged and bought under it in the current market.

The issuing bodies posting under this code span county governments and municipalities—DeKalb County and Pasco County in Georgia and Florida respectively, Collier County for coastal restoration, Pinellas County for multi-year environmental management services, and the City of Dallas for routine plant supply. Geographic activity concentrates in Florida and Georgia, with one Texas procurement. Given the absence of recent opportunities directly aligned with obedient plant procurement or even herbaceous perennial plant supply as a primary contract driver, this code shows little relevant recent activity for vendors focused on physostegias or similar ornamental plant categories.
