UNSPSC 10217600: Live zinnias

Live plants including the root ball of zinnias

UNSPSC 10217600 Live zinnias is a Class code that does not match the recent state and local opportunities tagged under it. The five most recent solicitations—covering IT and low-voltage infrastructure installation at a tennis center, landscaping and irrigation along a county road, coastal dune restoration with native plants, environmental site monitoring and native plant installation over five years, and generic plant purchases—involve no zinnias and span work ranging from telecommunications cabling to wetland ecology to general nursery stock. The code's nominal scope appears disconnected from current procurement activity in the state and local market.

Activity under this code remains sparse and geographically fragmented. Recent opportunities come from DeKalb County, Georgia; Pasco County, Florida; Collier County, Florida; Pinellas County, Florida; and the City of Dallas, Texas, with notice types spanning ITB, IFB, and informal solicitation. The Pasco County landscaping and irrigation project (IFB KM-26-047, due April 14, 2026) and the Collier County coastal dune restoration project (Quick Quote, March 13, 2026) represent the closest alignment to horticultural procurement, though neither involves zinnias specifically. Without recent opportunities actually requesting live zinnias under this code, monitor for reclassification or clearer alignment between the UNSPSC designation and actual state and local buying patterns before committing resources.
