UNSPSC 10217100: Live sweet peas

Live plants including the root ball of sweet pea flowers

UNSPSC 10217100 Live sweet peas, a Class code, does not map to the recent state and local opportunities tagged under it. The five most recent solicitations—encompassing IT infrastructure reconstruction, roadway landscaping and irrigation installation, coastal dune restoration planting, environmental wetland and stormwater restoration services, and generic plant purchases—bear no relationship to ornamental sweet pea flowers or seeds. The code appears to see little or no relevant procurement activity in state and local markets, and the opportunities present a clear mismatch between the nominal commodity (cut flowers or seeds of Lathyrus odoratus) and the work actually being solicited.

State and local buyers do procure landscaping plants, native species for ecological restoration, and grounds maintenance services under other UNSPSC codes; the opportunities here—led by Pasco County (landscape installation and irrigation, IFB KM-26-047, April 2026), Collier County (coastal dune native plant installation, Quick Quote, March 2026), and Pinellas County (five-year environmental planting and wetland restoration RFP, July 2025)—signal active demand for horticultural and environmental services across Florida and Texas. However, none of these procurements falls within the scope of live sweet peas as a discrete commodity. If pursuing ornamental flower supply or specialty perennial nursery stock, verify the correct UNSPSC code with the issuing procurement office before bidding.
