UNSPSC 10151928: Melia azedarach plant

It is a tree species of the genus Melia of the family Meliaceae. Native to Southeast Asia, it is cultivated for decoration and shade, especially for its wide and leafy crown, to which it owes its common name.

UNSPSC 10151928 Melia azedarach plant (Commodity) does not align with the state and local procurement activity documented in recent solicitations. The code nominally covers a single plant species, but the opportunities posted under this code span transit shelters, fuel stations, tree planting, equipment repairs, demolitions, wastewater infrastructure, and specialized facility upgrades—none of which involve Melia azedarach or direct plant material procurement in any consistent form.

The source contains no recent opportunities that actually procure Melia azedarach plants, mangrove restoration work, or other botanically aligned services under this code. The mismatch between the code taxonomy and the work being solicited suggests either a systematic coding error in how opportunities are tagged or that this code sees minimal relevant activity in state and local procurement. When a single code appears to serve as a catch-all for unrelated infrastructure and operations work, it signals that the code is either misapplied or dormant for its intended purpose. Do not pursue based on this code alone.
