Air Launch Cruise Missile – Guided Missile Flight Controller (GMFC) Remanufacture
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Nuclear Weapons Center published a Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice for the remanufacture of the Guided Missile Flight Controller for the Air Launch Cruise Missile. Due to Boeing's ownership of proprietary technical data and specialized tooling, equipment and personnel as the only contractor qualified to perform the work, the agency determined market research found no other sources capable of fulfilling requirements without extensive reverse engineering and delays of over 48 months. As a result, contract FA8128-21-D-0002 was awarded to Boeing on September 14, 2021 for an unknown value to remanufacture an unknown quantity of the GMFC. Pricing will be negotiated and a cost analysis performed based on certified cost or pricing data submitted by Boeing and audited by the Defense Contract Audit Agency.
