NIGP 95229: Dating and Escort Services

NIGP 95229 Dating And Escort Services, an Item code, does not align with the state and local procurement activity currently posted under this taxonomy. The single recent opportunity on file — the City of Dallas's solicitation for security and ushering services at the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts & Corporate Presentations (IFB 6426, due August 4, 2026, estimated annual value $225,000) — represents venue security and guest management work, not dating or escort services as the code name suggests. This mismatch indicates that the NIGP taxonomy entry may not reflect actual procurement usage, or that issuing bodies are miscoding security and event-staffing work under this Item.

The Dallas solicitation is the only recent state or local opportunity visible under code 95229. Without additional posted opportunities or issuing-body activity to characterize, the code shows no discernible geographic spread or pattern of repeat buyers. Procurement professionals should verify whether this code is actively used for its stated purpose or has become a default repository for staffing-adjacent services that do not fit other NIGP classifications. The sparse activity and nomenclature mismatch warrant clarification with the procuring jurisdiction before pursuing this code.
