NIGP 82537: Feedlots

NIGP 82537 Feedlots, an Item code, covers the procurement of feedlot services and related livestock management operations by state and local governments. State and local bodies use this code when contracting for animal feeding, holding, and care services typically associated with cattle operations, swine facilities, or other livestock confinement systems. Issuing bodies soliciting under this code span state departments of agriculture, county extension services, county animal control and welfare agencies, and special-purpose agricultural or livestock districts. The work includes feedlot site management, animal nutrition and feed supply, waste handling and environmental compliance, veterinary support, and facility maintenance — services that state and local governments procure to support agricultural infrastructure, animal welfare programs, or regulatory oversight of livestock operations.

No recent state or local contract opportunities appear in the available source data for NIGP 82537 Feedlots. Without posted solicitations from the past six to twelve months, the current market activity and geographic concentration under this code cannot be characterized. Firms evaluating this code should monitor state agricultural procurement channels and county purchasing offices in major livestock-producing regions — particularly in the Great Plains and Corn Belt states — for intermittent RFP or IFB activity, as feedlot contracts typically follow seasonal or operational cycles rather than appearing as recurring annual solicitations.
