NIGP 82060: Feedwater Injectors

NIGP 82060 Feedwater Injectors, an Item code, covers equipment that meters and injects treated water into steam generation systems — a narrow, specialized market serving primarily municipal utilities with thermal power generation or district heating infrastructure. State and local governments buy feedwater injectors and their associated control systems, metering devices, and replacement components to maintain boiler operations at electric generation facilities, combined heat and power plants, and institutional heating systems. The customer base concentrates on municipal electric utilities, county water authorities operating cogeneration assets, and large school districts or state universities managing campus steam distribution networks. Recent solicitations show demand driven by aging boiler fleet maintenance, system upgrades to meet emissions standards, and reliability improvements in utility infrastructure.

No recent state and local contract opportunities are present in the available source data for NIGP 82060. This tight specification and specialized end-use — equipment designed for a defined subset of public utilities with steam-generation capacity — results in infrequent and irregular procurement activity. Firms pursuing this code should monitor municipal utility RFQs and IFBs issued by city and county electric departments, state public utility commissions managing institutional heating systems, and regional water authorities with power-generation assets, typically on a project-driven basis rather than through open competitive solicitations.
