NIGP 81040: Insect Vacuum, Engine Driven

NIGP 81040 Insect Vacuum, Engine Driven is an Item code under which state and local governments procure engine-driven vacuum equipment and related parts and service. Recent procurement activity shows municipalities buying OEM vactor and Elgin brand equipment, parts, and maintenance support — goods typically used in municipal maintenance, wastewater management, and street cleaning operations. The issuing bodies soliciting under this code include cities and municipal governments handling fleet and equipment maintenance. A single recent opportunity reflects the narrow, specialized nature of this equipment category.

The City of Tarpon Springs, Florida posted a Notice of Intent to Single Source (Solicitation 260176NPH) on May 29, 2026 for OEM Vactor and Elgin equipment, parts, and service with a response deadline of June 19, 2026. The municipality estimated an annual value of $55,000 for the award and invited competing contractors to submit technical data demonstrating capability to meet or exceed the stated requirement. Geographic activity under this code appears concentrated in Florida based on available recent solicitations, though the narrow scope and specialized end-use suggest procurement occurs across jurisdictions with municipal maintenance and wastewater operations.
