NIGP 79553: Knitting Machines and Accessories

NIGP Item 79553, Knitting Machines and Accessories, covers the purchase of knitting equipment and related components that state and local governments source for vocational education programs, correctional facilities, and specialized manufacturing or training operations. The scope includes knitting machines themselves, needles, yarn feeds, tension devices, and replacement parts necessary for equipment operation and maintenance. State and local issuing bodies soliciting under this code span vocational and technical education agencies, corrections departments, and specialized training facilities, though the recent-opportunities block provides no named solicitations to characterize the issuing-body mix or geographic concentration at this time. The code sees limited procurement activity relative to broader textile and machinery categories, reflecting the narrow end-use base for dedicated knitting equipment in the public sector.

The source provides no recent state and local contract opportunities under NIGP 79553 to support geographic characterization, representative solicitations, or issuing-body naming.
